Composition...

Today I was going to try to shed some positive light on competition, but as much as I tried, there was no positivity in my words.
All I can say is be nice to each other. None of us have any right to be mean, new or seasoned.

Today I'm planning a maternity session, which always excites me! There's no part of a woman's life more beautiful than late pregnancy...the emotion...the anticipation, the raw excitement of parents awaiting the arrival of their new baby! I LOVE capturing this time, playing with light, emotion and color!
Today, I'm focusing on my composition strategies, and I thought that it was one of those topics I'd wished I'd understood earlier in my career!
Composition is the arrangement or layout of an image, purposely drawing the attention of the viewer to the subject in the image, but allowing the surroundings to set the mood for the entire image.
Images with your main subject in the very center of the image, are very nice, and I make sure to capture these in every session. However when I envision my images I always consider the images where subjects are off to one side or in a corner, allowing their surroundings to be apart of the image, adding scenery, and tell a little story to the viewer.  These are the ones I LOVE!!
I may be the only one who draws 30 little images(including stick people) out before every session, mind you, but this is how I set the "Shoot Mood" in my mind before I work!(helps with my nerves too!)
SO with every session, I have a strong idea in my mind of what I'd like to see in the end result. Of course not everything goes exactly to plan, but a basis is comforting!
The images I pre-plan are always based on the client's wishes, as well. and Their input is always a great way to boost creativity, incorporating 2 visions into a reality of one image. The results are stunning when creativity combines!
SO I'm Off to set up for my session, and leaving with you a couple links to free actions that I have found useful in post processing! Happy Shooting!!
